The 'Pan' tool allows you to move or pan the map in any direction. Clicking on the map directly will adjust the center of the map to the point clicked. Dragging on the map will shift the extent of the entire map.
The 'Select Features' tool allows you to select a map feature. Clicking on a map feature that has already been selected will unselect. Dragging on the map will create a window that selects multiple features. Use the drag select for better accuracy when selecting points or lines. The selectable theme can be set to the right.
The 'Zoom Previous' tool allows the user to retrieve the previous 10 map displays.
The 'Zoom Next' tool allows the user to move back forward through map displays. This tool is only useful if you have used the 'Zoon Previous' to go back several maps, and now want to return.
The 'Full Extent' tool will reload the map to the full extent.
The 'Bing Bird's Eye' tool will open Bing maps in the Bird's Eye view at the selected location, if avaliable.
The 'Google Street View' tool will open Google maps to the selected location and show the Street View if avaliable.
The property search allows you to search for taxable properties using 3 different methods, Owner Name, Account # or PIN #.
Owner Name: Search for the owner name using the following format: LastName FirstName. Do not use any comma's. For instance, if you were searching for John Doe, you would input "Doe John" into this search box. John Doe and Doe, John will not return the expected results.
Account #: Search for the property using it's SCAD account number (15 digits maximum). We reccomend you use at least the first 10 digits to limit the number of returned results.
PIN #: Search for the property using it's SCAD PIN number (6 digit maximum).
The Map Contents is the table of contents window where you can turn on or off different layers in the map
For a layer to be visible, both the checkbox next to the layer and the checkbox next to it's folder need to be checked. If the checkbox for the folder is unchecked, all the layers inside that folder will be off.
